Jessica Simpson Sued Over Beauty Line
Jessica Simspon is being sued! A woman named Mara Fox claims that Jessica Simpson stole the trademarked formula for her Desert Beauty Deliciously Kissable Love Potion from Fox's own Love Potion. Fox has filed this multi-million dollar lawsuit against Jessica and her cosmetic line business partners, Sephora and D'Lish. Fox released her Love Potion in 1989, while Jessica released her beauty line in 2004.
So, is this another frivolous lawsuit against a celebrity to try to make money off of them, or does Mara Fox have a legitimate case against Jessica Simpson? What do you all think?

There is more to a trademark name than registering two words as Mara Fox has done. She doesn't own those words. In a trademark dispute, Mara Fox would have to prove that Sephora intended to deceive the public into believing their cosmetics were actually Mara Fox's perfume. Let's get real! There is no way her perfume could be confused with Sephora's cosmetics. In an ICANN lawsuit, it will probably be settled in Sephora's favor.

It is BS she is harassing my business THE GYPSY CONNECTION now as she keeps having my listings removed for my SINTI LOVE oil which I describe as a love potion. I had my attorneys validate that I have the right to use the common term when using it to describe what it is and since it is signifigant in my culture too. EX. Diesal can't sue fuel companies for using the word to describe gas. She can't sue me for using Love potion to describe a love potion. Yet she feels she owns this term that is found in documents as far back as the bible and in the 2nd century! She is trying to prevent me from selling a recipe that goes back hundreds of years in my family and I am so enraged that she feels the has sold right to this term that my culture made and she doesnt even have the respect to let us honor our tradition and wants people to pay her like she came up with it! She only has the right to protect her perfume and that is it!! Mara is shameful and evil and and I think if she keeps it up, will loose the TM. I plant to fight her but since our sale go to a non profit organization it will be hard to find the funds. I will find away, because I am not going to let her violate my rights!
